sutra 2.51

बाह्याभ्यन्तरविषयाक्षेपी चतुर्थः ॥ २.५१ ॥

bāhyābhyantaraviṣayākṣepī caturthaḥ || 2.51 ||

bāhya = internal 

ābhyantara = external 

viṣayā = sense objects

ākṣepī = the magical power of attraction

caturthaḥ = the fourth limb

This fourth limb’s power over internal and external sense objects extends to the magical power of attraction.

bāhya—the external. ābhyantara—the internal, viṣayaregion, spheres, ākṣepī—passing over, going beyond. caturthaḥ—the fourth.

Viṣaya (विषय) refers to “sense objects”, according to the Sarvajñānottara 29.40.—Accordingly, while describing the no-mind state: “Having thrown off attachment to sense objects (viṣaya-āsaṅga), one should [thus] eliminate one’s mental activity. When one goes to the state of no mind, then that is the supreme bliss”.

 आक्षेपिन् [ ākṣepin ] [ ā-kṣepin m. f. n. ifc. applying to , concerning Lit. Yogas. 

   hinting at Lit. Sāh. 

  [ ākṣepiṇī f. (with [ siddhi ] ) the magical power of attraction, Lit. Mālatīm. (= [ ākarṣiṇī ] [siddhiḥ ] , Sch.).
