3.22 nirupakramam ca karma tatsamyamādaparāntajñānamaristebhyo vā
upakramam = entrance into form or being (of an action); initial or inchoate stage; beginning

You can meditate on the law of cause and effect to gain insight into the omens and timing of death, but if you look to see how something entered into form and try to trace it back to its source, you will find that it has no beginning and has always existed.
